60/70 standard arena eventing classes

80/90/100. These are all qualifiers for the BE Arena Eventing championship @ Aston Le Walls 27th/28th February 2027 with the 100 class having an open section 

We can potentially add an optional dressage test if people are interested

Riders will jump a course of 5-8 show jumps and then proceed immediately into the WH/XC phase of 8-15 simulated XC fences all on a surface. The last fence will be a show jump (joker fence) which will be approximately 10cm higher than the rest of the course.

You do NOT have to be a BE member to compete in any of the listed classes. Competitors who qualify for the Championships at Aston Le Walls will receive a Championships qualification email from the BE Office on receipt of the results at BE from the qualifying venues. Upon receipt of the qualification email competitors will have 14 days to become a member (minimum PAYG) of BE and horses registered with BE which is free, to retain their qualification. Failure to do this will result in the qualification being passed on.

British Eventing Rules for tack and rider equipment for XC including body protectors

First Aiders will be present

Classes split between junior (18 and under) and senior, please state on entry- please note that senior and junior results are amalgamated and the qualification criteria applied as a single class

Arena Eventing prizes based on number of competitors, if 5 1st £35, if 10 2nd £20 , if 15 3rd £10 etc

Entries close 48hrs prior to competition (unless full)

SJ- disobedience or knockdown 4 penalties, 2nd refusal 8 penalties, 3x refusals = elimination

XC- disobedience 20 penalties, 2nd refusal 40 penalties, 3x refusals= elimination 

TIMED, every commenced second under optimum time (15 second tolerance) = 0.4 penalties. Speed  350mpm for 80cm, 375mpm for 90cm & 100. No stopwatches allowed. 

Fall of horse or rider, starting before the bell, retaking an obstacle already jumped, error of course or exceeding time limit will result in an elimination

To be part of the series the following restrictions apply:

-            Intro tests: Combination must have 0 BD points

-            Prelim tests: Combination must have less than 15 NOVICE BD points

-            Novice tests: Combination must have less than 20 Elem BD points

-            Elementary tests: Combination must have less than 20 Medium BD points

-            Medium/Adv Med: OPEN

To qualify 3 tests at the level at Northallerton EC at 62% or above (for example you can get 2 qualifying scores on one day if you enter both prelim classes)

Separate Junior sections in all classes

Final on MARCH 13th 2027 - Winners Sash & Rosette to Champion and Reserve Champion, Rosette’s 1st - 10th Place

We do not have anyone on the staff to read tests, if you wish to have your test read, please work with another competitor or bring someone with you.

* please note all dressage tests are the British Dressage 2024 tests, these can only be purchased from the BD shop linked HERE*

We run our dressage under normal rules;

• please wear 2 x numbers (one on each side) it really helps the judges to know who they are judging.
• Please wear dressage legal tack & equipment
• Entries close on Thursday evening prior to the event
• Times are not released until the Friday morning.
• Withdrawal prior to entries close for refund minus £5 admin fee per entry
• IF late entries are accepted extra £5 per entry
• Withdraw after close of entries NO REFUND

NO TIE UP OUTSIDE BOXES (except whilst tacking up)

Prizes in kind from TOPSPEC and rosettes from 1st-6th. Juniors are in separate section and prizes
